Role Overview

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Southall is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join its supportive pupil progress team. This full-time term-time-only role involves working alongside class teachers across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to provide high-quality classroom support and targeted group interventions.

The role is ideal for a compassionate individual with experience in primary education or a graduate seeking hands-on school experience before pursuing a teaching qualification. You will play an active role in creating an encouraging environment where every child feels valued and supported in their learning.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Classroom Support: Assist class teachers with everyday lesson delivery classroom setup and fostering an active positive learning atmosphere.

  • Targeted Interventions: Lead small group literacy phonics and numeracy activities as well as providing 1:1 support for children needing additional academic scaffolding.

  • SEN Support: Work closely with the SENCO to implement adapted strategies for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

  • Pastoral Care: Encourage social development promote good behaviour and ensure pupil well-being and safety throughout the school day.

  • Qualifications & Skills: Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics strong communication skills patience and a clear Enhanced DBS check.
