Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join a successful school in Reading from September. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people and who wants to make a genuine difference to pupils academic progress confidence and wider development.

The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and other members of the support team providing targeted assistance to pupils both within the classroom and where appropriate through small-group or individual interventions. You will play an important role in helping students remain engaged with their learning develop independence and overcome barriers to progress.

The school is looking for someone who is approachable patient and adaptable with the ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and staff. Previous experience working in a school environment would be advantageous although applications are also welcomed from graduates and candidates who can demonstrate transferable experience working with children or young people.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant your responsibilities are likely to include:

• Supporting pupils during lessons and helping them to access the curriculum

• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce classroom learning

• Assisting teachers with the preparation and delivery of learning activities

• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils remain focused

• Providing additional support to pupils who require extra assistance

• Helping pupils develop confidence independence and effective learning habits

• Supporting classroom organisation and preparation

• Working collaboratively with teachers pastoral staff and other support colleagues

• Contributing to a safe positive and inclusive learning environment

Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant would be advantageous

• Graduates with a genuine interest in education are encouraged to apply

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A patient positive and supportive approach

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Legal ability to work within the UK
