ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the daily operations of the Stores team while contributing to the ongoing growth and success of the business. You will play a vital role in coordinating logistics managing stock supporting and developing team members and ensuring customer orders are delivered accurately and on time. Working closely with the Media & Stores Manager you will help streamline processes improve efficiencies and maintain the high standards that our clients expect making a tangible impact on both operational performance and customer experience.
Key activities:
- Prioritise and perform the daily workload of the team to ensure the activities are completed efficiently and effectively in accordance with both approved technical standards and client instructions
- Manage support and provide training of junior staff in routine and new techniques including agreed training plans
- Responsible for the performance and turnaround of client and internal receipt and dispatch of goods in line with customer expectations and Intertek Total Quality Standards
- Coordinate and schedule logistics to ensure all customer orders and internal requests for sample or other deliveries are achieved accurately and on time in accordance with company procedures
- Overseeing the back-yard areas to ensure it is tidy and in reasonable order to ensure safe operating practices and a smooth running within the yard area and assist with disposal of waste as our waste disposal practices and areas within the yard to ensure that the waste disposal containers are used effectively and collected as required by the assigned vendor
- Support the booking out of stock for goods packed updating the live stock spreadsheet daily for any client orders. Maintaining and updating batch record information for each individual client order. Support the transfer of stock from the media lab to stores and updating the live stock sheet
- Compare physical stock count with live stock spreadsheet monthly
- Package items for onshore/offshore delivery Assist with packing of Dangerous Goods (DG) as per DG Regulations Preparation of Intertek delivery notes for subcontracts and local collections
- Assist with loading/unloading of deliveries Provid receipt of deliveries unpacking and distributing thereafter as necessary
- Assist the Stock controller as required in the preparation of purchase requisitions for the laboratory and for resale to clients maintaining ordering data spreadsheet
