As Moderna continues to expand its presence in Harwell this role offers the opportunity to support advanced GxP manufacturing systems that underpin the delivery of innovative mRNA medicines. Working alongside talented engineering and manufacturing teams youll help ensure our automation platforms operate reliably compliantly and efficiently while contributing to the future of biotechnology.

As a Senior Engineer Process Automation you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operation of Modernas cutting-edge GxP manufacturing automation systems. Leveraging your expertise across platforms including Aveva System Platform Rockwell Automation ControlLogix DeltaV Syncade Apprentice Tempo and Aveva PI Historian you will help ensure the reliable and compliant operation of critical manufacturing processes that enable the delivery of mRNA therapies to patients worldwide. Youll also have opportunities to work alongside emerging digital and Generative AI capabilities that continue to enhance manufacturing performance operational insights and engineering excellence.

Heres What Youll Do:

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across our GxP Process Automation Systems including DeltaV and Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers.

  • Maintain and champion a culture of compliance ensuring excellence in both the design of automation solutions and the ongoing operation and maintenance of manufacturing systems.

  • Provide technical leadership coaching and mentorship to junior engineers fostering their development and supporting engineering excellence.

Heres What Youll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Computer Science or related technology discipline.

  • 5-10 years working with process automation systems.

  • Clear communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner to various stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to occasionally cover off-hours holidays and weekends as necessary.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Proficiency in IT networking and OT with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize.

  • Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes and equipment.

  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills and technologies.
