Solicitor
Job Summary
This is a remote position.
- Oversee a caseload of Court of Protection cases from start to finish.
- Offer legal counsel on welfare and property and affairs issues.
- Draft applications witness statements pleadings and related documents.
- Prepare court bundles and manage all aspects of case preparation.
- Coordinate with Counsel the Court Social Workers and other relevant parties.
- Represent the Local Authority at hearings when necessary.
- Provide legal guidance to Adult Social Care teams.
- Advise on statutory duties and responsibilities under applicable laws.
- Support safeguarding and complex care cases.
- Deliver practical solution-oriented legal advice to client departments.
- Assist with policy interpretation and legal risk management.
- Independently manage a diverse and complex caseload.
- Ensure timely progression of cases within required deadlines.
- Maintain precise case records and documentation.
- Conduct legal research and provide written advice.
- Perform administrative tasks and manage documents related to casework.
- Qualified Solicitor Barrister or Fellow of CILEX eligible to practice in England and Wales.
- Extensive experience in Adult Social Care Law.
- Proven track record in handling Court of Protection cases.
- Capability to manage a full caseload independently.
- Experience in providing legal advice to Local Authority client departments.
- Proficiency in preparing court documents applications and bundles.
- Strong drafting advocacy and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Experience in performing administrative and case management duties as needed.
- Previous experience in Local Authority legal work.
- Advocacy experience.
- Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act matters.
- Experience advising on safeguarding and complex care issues.
- 390.75 per day (Umbrella)
- 3 Month Contract

Required Skills:
Essential Requirements Qualified Solicitor Barrister or Fellow of CILEX eligible to practise in England and Wales. Significant experience in Adult Social Care Law. Extensive experience handling Court of Protection matters. Ability to manage a full caseload independently. Experience providing legal advice to Local Authority client departments. Experience preparing court documentation applications and bundles. Strong drafting advocacy and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously in a remote working environment. Experience undertaking own administrative and case management duties where required. Desirable Requirements Previous Local Authority legal experience. Advocacy experience.
