The Role
As the Site Technical Manager you will:
Lead the technical team ensuring the effective management of food safety and quality standards across the site.
Be the point of contact for all technical aspects including regulatory compliance HACCP quality control and customer specifications.
Manage the sites Quality Management System (QMS) including the implementation of systems to monitor and maintain product consistency.
Take ownership of all technical documentation ensuring it meets the necessary standards and is accurate for all production runs.
Coordinate external audits (BRC customer audits) and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
Oversee the management of product specifications raw material sourcing and supplier approval ensuring they meet the highest food safety and quality standards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation (DAFM HACCP BRC) and update systems in line with customer and industry requirements.
Lead and manage the continuous improvement process driving initiatives that will improve food safety reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
Develop and deliver training and development plans for the technical team to enhance knowledge and skills.
Work closely with other departments (Production Purchasing R&D and Logistics) to ensure seamless coordination of technical requirements.
Actively contribute to all operational meetings helping the site achieve its production and quality targets.
The Person
Degree in Food ScienceFood Technology or a related technical field.
Proven experience in managing technical operations within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of HACCPBRC standards and other relevant food safety legislation.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage motivate and develop a technical team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming production challenges.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
Experience managing audits certifications and regulatory compliance.
Attention to detail and a passion for driving high standards of quality and food safety.
Experience in managing supplier relationships and handling technical queries.
