A secondary school in Southwark is looking for an experienced Senior Science Technician to join its Science Department on an ASAP basis.
This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity giving both the school and successful candidate the chance to ensure the role is the right fit before moving onto a permanent contract.
You will play an important part in keeping the Science Department running smoothly preparing practical work and ensuring laboratories and equipment are ready for lessons.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing practical equipment and materials for Biology Chemistry and Physics
Supporting teachers during practical lessons and demonstrations
Maintaining laboratories prep rooms and equipment
Monitoring stock and arranging orders when required
Carrying out routine equipment checks and maintenance
Following COSHH and school health & safety procedures
Keeping accurate records of chemicals equipment and resources
Supporting and coordinating the work of other Science Technicians
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Science Technician ideally at Senior Technician level and have strong knowledge of secondary school practical science.
You should be organised reliable and confident working independently while supporting teachers and other technicians.
