About the Role

Assist in the management of the ongoing compliance with prudential regulations applying to all Rathbones subsidiary businesses. Regulations include but not limited to MIFIDPRU / IPRU-INV / IFR & IFD / JFSC and GFSC capital and liquidity rules.

Assist with the production of ICARAs/ICAAPS Wind-down plans public disclosure documents and key committee packs collaborating with executives in the subsidiaries to ensure regulatory requirements are understood and embedded in decision making.

What youll be responsible for

  • Assist with the management of regulatory compliance with the different prudential regulatory regimes across all relevant subsidiaries of the group including but not limited to production of the annual ICARA/ICARAP process and disclosures ongoing capital and liquidity requirement assessment and frequent review of the nature and value of risks of harm.
  • Assist with the timely and accurate production of regulatory reporting according to the principles set out in regulatory reporting governance framework including the implementation of new reporting requirements and responding to any ad-hoc requests for data from the regulators.
  • Co-ordinate production and analysis of relevant MI from both a commercial and risk-based perspective for onwards reporting to the Senior Group Treasury & ALM Controller executive committees and board.
  • Engage with treasury and capital teams to set out the modelling requirements for liquidity and capital for ICARA/ICARAP purposes resulting in the teams providing adequate forecasting and stress outputs to support the ICARA and ICARAP process.
  • Support the annual review (or more frequently if required) of risk tolerances recommending changes where appropriate and ensuring calibration methodology is clear.
  • Production of regulatory returns where the Prudential Regulation team are the assigned owners in accordance with requirements of the regulatory reporting governance framework.
  • Maintain procedures reflecting changes as they occur and testing where appropriate.
  • Support the review of the regulatory reporting governance framework policy on at least an annual basis to ensure they remain relevant to current external climate and capture all risks appropriately.
  • Support the production of public disclosures engaging with key stakeholders to refresh both quantitative and qualitative material and ensuring disclosures comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Co-ordinate production and analysis of regulatory reporting positions ready for submission to the Capital performance forum Banking Committee and other subsidiary committees.

About you

  • Regulatory reporting experience with knowledge of the FCA handbooks.
  • 2 years experience working in a similar role with experience in a control environment.
  • Demonstrable experience within a compliance function or similar in a financial services firm.
  • Keeps up to date with developments in the industry including emerging risks and regulations.
  • Able to communicate information ideas or issues effectively and clearly through the most appropriate channel within the team and to key stakeholders.
  • Able to organise and prioritise own workload effectively working to a high degree of autonomy.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Confident challenging processes and escalating issues
  • Demonstrate good teamwork supporting colleagues to achieve team goals.
  • An eye for detail able to identify investigate and clearly explain variance.
  • Self-motivated with high energy and enthusiasm.
  • High level of accuracy and concentration with ability to grasp new tasks quickly.
  • Comfortable working across the MS Office suite of applications particularly Word PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Able to source simple datasets and translate into user friendly outputs to support analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes efficiency and outcomes and driving practical solutions to deliver measurable improvements.
