Senior Pathology Coordinator
Albyn Hospital
37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to 27500.00 peryear(depending on level of experience training and qualification)

We have an opportunity foraSenior Pathology Coordinator to join their team of staff.

This is a full- time role for37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Lead the coordination of pathology services ensuring timely and accurate handling of diagnostic samples.

  • Supervise and support junior pathology coordinators and phlebotomy support staff ensuring service continuity and staff coverage.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for complex queries or service issues ensuring prompt resolution and escalation where needed.

  • Ensure adherence to national and organisational protocols for specimen labelling handling packaging and transport.

  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention health and safety and data protection policies across the pathology service.

  • Support audits incident reviews and implementation of action plans related to pathology performance and governance.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience working in a pathology coordination laboratory or diagnostics support role.

  • Strong understanding of specimen handling protocols and laboratory processes.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.

  • Proficient in using pathology and clinical IT systems.
