Join us as a Lead Nurse at our Army Assessment Centre in Westbury where youll play a key role in supporting candidates on their journey into the British Army. Leading a dedicated team youll oversee the delivery of medical assessments in a professional supportive and candidate-focused environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for nurses looking to move away from the pressures of ward-based care whilst continuing to make a real difference. With a Monday to Friday working pattern no nights no weekends and no on-call commitments youll have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while enjoying greater stability and flexibility.
Based in Westbury this role is easily commutable from Bath Trowbridge Frome Warminster Salisbury and surrounding areas.

What youll be doing
- Leading and overseeing the delivery of medical screening activities.
- Managing and developing medical screening staff supporting training auditing and professional development.
- Conducting and reviewing clinical assessments and medical tests ensuring accurate outcomes and appropriate decision-making.
- Providing clinical expertise and advice liaising with doctors and healthcare professionals as required.
- Maintaining high standards of clinical governance patient care infection control and safe working practices.
- Coordinating medical resources equipment and clinic operations to ensure smooth day-to-day delivery.
What were looking for
Essential
Registered Nurse (NMC) with no restrictions sanctions or pending hearings.
Experience within health screening occupational health primary care military healthcare or another clinical assessment environment.
An understanding of clinical testing equipment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues doctors and healthcare professionals
Ability to prioritise workload make sound clinical decisions and work both independently and as part of a team.
Competent user of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Teams Word and Excel.
Desirable
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
