A well-established secondary academy in Dartford is seeking an organised and practical Science Technician to join its busy Science Department. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support across Biology Chemistry and Physics helping teachers deliver practical lessons safely and effectively.

• Practical preparation: Prepare chemicals apparatus specimens equipment and other resources ahead of practical science lessons.

• Laboratory support: Set up and clear laboratories before and after experiments ensuring rooms are ready for teaching.

• Equipment maintenance: Check clean and maintain scientific equipment reporting faults and arranging repairs where required.

• Health & safety: Follow school procedures COSHH requirements and relevant CLEAPSS guidance when handling chemicals and equipment.

• Stock control: Monitor science supplies and maintain organised preparation areas and stores.

• Practical and organised: Able to manage several preparation tasks while working to lesson deadlines.

• Science background: Previous laboratory school technician or relevant scientific experience would be advantageous.

• Safety-conscious: Understands the importance of safe working practices within a school laboratory environment.

• Reliable: Able to work effectively as part of a wider Science Department.

• Busy secondary setting: A department delivering practical science throughout Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Supportive team: Work alongside experienced teachers and other technical staff.

• Well-equipped facilities: Modern laboratories and dedicated preparation/storage areas.
