A well-established secondary academy in Bedford is seeking an organised Science Technician to join its Science Department. The successful candidate will provide practical support across Biology Chemistry and Physics and help ensure lessons are properly prepared and delivered safely.
Practical preparation: Prepare apparatus chemicals specimens and other resources for practical lessons.
Laboratory support: Set up and clear laboratories before and after experiments.
Equipment management: Check scientific equipment regularly and report faults or damage.
Stock control: Maintain organised science stores and monitor consumable supplies.
Health & safety: Follow appropriate laboratory procedures COSHH requirements and departmental safety guidance.
Practical experience: Laboratory technical or school-based experience would be advantageous.
Organised: Able to manage several preparation requests throughout the school day.
