An outstanding school in Liverpool is seeking a reliable practical and organised Science Technician to join its science department on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in science who enjoys supporting practical learning and helping a busy department run effectively.
The successful Science Technician will provide essential practical and technical support to the science department ensuring laboratories equipment and resources are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing equipment and materials for practical science lessons
Supporting teachers with experiments demonstrations and practical activities
Maintaining and organising laboratories and scientific equipment
Checking cleaning and storing equipment safely
Ensuring appropriate health and safety procedures are followed
Managing and monitoring science resources and stock
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment and arranging replacements where required
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the science department
The school is looking for a dependable and well-organised individual with a practical approach and strong attention to detail. Previous experience as a Science Technician Laboratory Technician or within a scientific environment would be advantageous.
The successful candidate should have good communication skills be confident working independently and as part of a team and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining safe and effective practical learning environments.
