A high-performing secondary academy in Erith is seeking a Science Technician to cover a temporary vacancy within its Science Department. The successful candidate will support teachers across KS3 and GCSE and ensure practical lessons are properly prepared.

• Prepare daily practicals: Organise apparatus and resources for Science lessons.

• Support Biology Chemistry and Physics: Assist with practical work across all three disciplines.

• Maintain laboratories: Ensure rooms and preparation areas are ready for teaching.

• Monitor equipment: Carry out basic checks and report faults.

• Manage consumables: Monitor stock and assist with ordering.

• Support safety procedures: Follow school policies and recognised laboratory guidance.

• Previous experience: School Science Technician or laboratory experience is preferred.

• Science confident: Understands common practical equipment and procedures.

• Organised: Able to work to a busy school timetable.

• Reliable: Consistently completes preparation tasks on time.

• Safety focused: Works carefully with equipment and chemicals.

• Team oriented: Communicates effectively with teaching and support staff.

• Large secondary academy: A busy but structured school environment.

• Established Science faculty: Work with specialist teachers across all three sciences.

• Regular practical work: Strong emphasis on practical investigation.
