The Person

We are looking for driven and ambitious individuals to join our Sales Distribution Team.

The Role

As a Sales Consultant within our Sales Distribution Team you will be responsible for developing existing customer accounts identifying new business opportunities and supporting sales growth across a defined customer portfolio.

Working closely with customers distribution partners and internal stakeholders you will proactively manage the sales process from enquiry through to order. You will build strong customer relationships promote SMCs products and services and provide solutions that help customers achieve their business objectives.

Success in this role requires strong communication skills a proactive approach and a passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed monthly quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Develop sales by understanding customer requirements and building strong relationships.
  • Generate new business opportunities through proactive customer engagement.
  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
  • Support and maintain relationships with distribution partners.
  • Promote SMC products services and value-added solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions opportunities and sales activities within CRM.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Sales Engineers Customer Services and Technical Support teams.
  • Live and demonstrate SMC Values.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous sales customer service or account management experience would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems would be beneficial.
  • Technical or engineering knowledge is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
