Role Summary

The Remote Sales Representative is responsible for driving the growth and retention of a specialist anaesthesia and injectable product portfolio across the UK. This role serves as a vital commercial link between NHS customers field sales and internal supply teams to ensure continuity of care and market expansion. Success is measured by account retention new business acquisition and effective navigation of NHS procurement frameworks within a fully remote mid-level professional capacity.


Work Setup & Collaboration
  • Remote Autonomy: Operates in a 100% remote environment requiring high levels of self-motivation and disciplined time management.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Works closely with Field Sales Managers Technical Teams and Regulatory departments to align supply with clinical demand.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manages complex relationships across NHS pharmacy departments procurement hubs and clinical leads via virtual platforms.
  • Compliance-Driven: Operates within the rigorous ABPI Code of Practice and highly regulated medical device/pharmaceutical supply chain standards.


What Youll Do
  • Drive Portfolio Growth: Proactively identify and win new business opportunities for anaesthesia and specialist injectable products through data-led prospecting.
  • Account Retention: Monitor sales performance to identify declining accounts and implement re-engagement strategies to secure long-term loyalty.
  • Navigate Procurement: Engage NHS stakeholders on procurement frameworks demonstrating product value and supporting Cost Improvement Objectives (CIPs).
  • Clinical Communication: Articulate technical product differentiation and value propositions to pharmacists and clinical stakeholders via phone and video.
  • Supply Chain Management: Proactively communicate supply issues backorders and shortages to customers to maintain trust and service continuity.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain precise records within the CRM to support accurate forecasting tender activity and pricing contract management.
  • Lifecycle Support: Coordinate equipment audits and align with technical teams to manage the installed base and future upgrade cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with internal regulatory and supply chain teams to resolve market-driven commercial challenges.
  • Ownership: Independently manage the end-to-end sales process for assigned accounts from initial outreach to contract administration.


Success Indicators
  • Revenue Growth: Achieve or exceed quarterly sales targets for the anaesthesia and injectable portfolios.
  • Account Health: Maintain a retention rate of 95% across key NHS accounts.
  • Pipeline Velocity: Convert a defined percentage of prospects into active customers within each fiscal half.
  • Operational Accuracy: Ensure 100% CRM data accuracy for forecasting and tender submissions.
  • SLA Adherence: Resolve customer supply inquiries and backorder communications within 2448 hours.


Required Qualifications
  • Certification: Must be ABPI qualified.
  • Experience: Minimum of 35 years of commercial sales experience preferably within the UK healthcare or medical device sector.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of NHS procurement structures and pharmaceutical supply chain dynamics.
  • Sales Acumen: Proven ability in objection handling virtual prospecting and commercial negotiation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced capability in using CRM systems and virtual engagement tools (e.g. Teams Zoom).
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills tailored for professional remote stakeholder engagement.
  • Independence: Demonstrated ability to manage a territory and achieve results with minimal direct supervision.


Nice to Have
  • Previous experience managing anaesthesia injectables or hospital-based products.
  • Direct experience engaging with NHS pharmacy stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and sales forecasting.
  • Existing knowledge of UK wholesaler environments and pharmaceutical tenders.
