Job Summary
- Operate refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and meet legal standards.
- Lead and manage a small refuse collection team.
- Provide clear instructions and ensure efficient completion of daily routes.
- Utilize in-cab systems to document service delivery and operational data.
- Report any vehicle issues incidents accidents and safety concerns.
- Maintain high standards of safety cleanliness and professionalism.
- Complete all collection activities according to service schedules and procedures.
- Interact positively with the public and deliver excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective service delivery.
- Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC (Driver Qualification Card).
- Experience in operating HGV vehicles in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in conducting vehicle safety checks and routine maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of:

- Ability to lead a small team and manage daily operations.

Required Skills:
Essential Requirements Valid Category C (HGV Class 2) Driving Licence. Valid Driver CPC (Driver Qualification Card). Experience operating HGV vehicles in a professional environment. Experience carrying out vehicle safety checks and routine maintenance inspections. Strong understanding of: Health & Safety procedures Road safety regulations Safe working practices in traffic environments Ability to lead a small crew and manage daily operational performance. Competent using in-cab systems and service recording technology. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions. Flexible approach to working hours including early mornings evenings and occasional weekends. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and representing the Council positively.
