Job Summary

Rate of Pay: 17.28- 22.13 per hour
Summary:
Refuse Driverto join the environmental services team in Brentwood. The role involves driving refuse collection vehicles and supporting the collection and disposal of household and commercial waste safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will work as part of a team ensuring refuse collection rounds are completed to a high standard while complying with health and safety environmental and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Drive HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles safely and responsibly.
- Carry out scheduled refuse and recycling collection rounds in accordance with operational requirements.
- Assist with loading handling and emptying refuse and recycling containers where required.
- Ensure waste is collected and transported in accordance with relevant health safety and environmental regulations.
- Deal professionally and courteously with members of the public when carrying out collection duties.
Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Relevant waste management or environmental services training would be advantageous.
Essentials:
- Previous experience driving HGV Class 2 vehicles is essential.
- Experience working as a refuse driver/loader would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of vehicle safety checks and safe driving practices.
- Good understanding of health and safety manual handling and safe working practices.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
