Were recruiting a Quality Manager to join a well-established food manufacturer in Lancashire on a 14-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Quality Assurance function on shift working closely with production to ensure the highest standards of food safety quality and compliance.
This is a hands-on leadership role where youll spend significant time on the factory floor driving standards supporting operational teams and developing a strong food safety culture.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Technical Manager youll be responsible for leading the QA team and ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of food safety legality and customer compliance.
Youll work collaboratively with Production Engineering Hygiene and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement while ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coach and develop the Quality Assurance team.
Drive a strong food safety and quality culture across the manufacturing operation.
Ensure compliance with HACCP GMP BRCGS and customer standards.
Oversee product quality product release and non-conformance investigations.
Lead customer third-party and regulatory audit preparation.
Conduct factory inspections GMP audits and environmental monitoring reviews.
Manage allergen controls traceability systems and hygiene standards.
Investigate customer complaints and implement effective corrective actions.
Analyse quality KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Work closely with Production and Technical teams to improve processes and reduce waste.
Support new product launches by ensuring quality systems are embedded from day one.
Deputise for the Site Technical Manager when required.
About You

Essential
Experience within a food manufacturing or high-care production environment.
Strong knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standards HACCP and GMP.
Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
Level 3 HACCP qualification.
Internal Auditor qualification.
Experience managing QA teams.
Knowledge of allergen management environmental monitoring and retailer requirements.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
