About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to join a growing business at the forefront of advanced engineering and manufacturing. Working within a collaborative engineering team youll play a key role in supporting new product introduction (NPI) improving manufacturing processes driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design through to manufacture.
• Oversee and continually improve manufacturing processes to maximise efficiency and quality.
• Lead and manage Root Cause Analysis investigations using 8D methodologies.
• Maintain and administer the 8D/RMA system.
• Develop production operating instructions and equipment specifications.
• Implement continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Diagnose manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Work closely with design manufacturing and quality teams to improve production methods.
• Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with health & safety procedures and best practice.
• Review engineering drawings Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routes to ensure production readiness.
• Create and maintain production documentation where required.
• Coordinate meetings with internal departments and project stakeholders.
• Analyse manufacturing data and recommend improvements to productivity labour efficiency and costs.
• Source materials and equipment required for engineering improvements.
• Promote safe working practices and identify any unsafe conditions or procedures.
• Stay up to date with advances in manufacturing technology and engineering best practice.

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Minimum of 5 years experience within a Production Engineering role.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience using CAD software.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.

Desirable

• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience within precision engineering or high-tech manufacturing.
• Hands-on engineering and assembly experience.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team.
• Positive proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
