An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join a fast growing small building services consultancy. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys leading projects managing client relationships and mentoring junior team members while working on a diverse portfolio of residential developments.
As a senior member of the team you will take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion ensuring high-quality sustainable design solutions are delivered to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects within the residential sector.
- Manage projects through all stages from feasibility and concept design to construction and handover.
- Produce and review detailed calculations specifications reports and technical documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across the business.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships acting as a trusted technical advisor.
- Coordinate with architects contractors developers and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Champion sustainable and energy-efficient engineering solutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and to the highest technical standards.
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 6 years experience within a building services consultancy environment.
- Strong track record delivering residential building services projects.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage key client relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles.
- Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
