Permanent Contract
Full-Time 37 Hours per Week
About the Role
The Permit Officer has a key role in the delivery of the Thurrock Permit Scheme.
This particular role entails stringent investigation of permit applications ensuring that all are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. The successful applicant will assist in the co-ordination of the road network ensuring no clashes occur with other works investigate non-compliances issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and dealing with enquiries and complaints from residents and cabinet members.
The role also involves the drafting and processing of road closure applications whether they relate to planned or immediate activities.
What We Are Looking For
The applicant must have intensive knowledge of the NRSWA and the TMA and must have previous experience in interrogating the DfT Street Manager system.
The applicant must also have experience in working with the relevant different permit schemes within the country and an in-depth knowledge of the national permit conditions.
Experience of dealing with contractors utility companies and members of the public are also essential as well as possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
