A secondary school in Oxford is looking to appoint a Performing Arts Technician to support its music drama and performing arts departments.

The successful candidate will assist with productions rehearsals lessons performances and the preparation and maintenance of specialist equipment.

• Prepare performance spaces and specialist equipment for lessons and productions.

• Support teachers during practical performing arts sessions.

• Set up microphones speakers lighting staging and other technical equipment.

• Assist with school productions concerts performances and rehearsals.

• Maintain and safely store technical and performing arts equipment.

• Carry out basic checks and troubleshooting of equipment.

• Assist with stage changes props furniture and production resources.

• Ensure performance spaces remain safe and organised.

• Maintain an accurate inventory of specialist equipment.

• Support the department with general technical and practical duties.

• Previous technical theatre music events or performing arts experience.

• Practical understanding of sound lighting staging or audiovisual equipment.

• Ability to work calmly during live performances and events.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexible approach to supporting rehearsals and performances.

• Relevant technical qualifications would be advantageous.
