Private Client Paralegal

Location: Northampton or Kettering
Additional Location: Central London as and when required
Salary: Competitive dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Office-based

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Paralegal to join a well-established partner-led Private Client team.

Due to continued growth the team is looking for an additional Paralegal to provide valuable support to its qualified lawyers and assist with the progression of a varied caseload.

This is an ideal opportunity for a law graduate or experienced legal professional who has a genuine interest in Private Client work and is looking to develop their knowledge and career within a supportive and established team.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Private Client lawyers providing both administrative and fee-earning support across a range of matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting qualified lawyers with the day-to-day administration of client files.
  • Assisting with the progression and management of Private Client matters.
  • Taking client instructions and assisting with the drafting of Wills and Codicils.
  • Assisting with Probate and Estate Administration matters.
  • Assisting with Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organised client files.
  • Communicating confidently and professionally with clients both face-to-face and by telephone.
  • Liaising with colleagues and other offices as required.
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately efficiently and in accordance with relevant procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Completing annual mandatory training in accordance with Law Society Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) requirements.
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Law degree or relevant legal qualification.
  • Some previous knowledge or experience within Private Client law.
  • Practical experience or understanding of Wills and Codicils Probate and Estate Administration and LPAs.
  • Experience supporting lawyers with client files and matter progression.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • A professional and personable approach to client care.
  • Confidence communicating with clients both in person and over the telephone.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn develop and undertake relevant training.
  • The flexibility to attend other offices including the Central London office when required.
