A Fantastic Opportunity: NMS Modelling Engineer

The NMS Modelling engineer is responsible for ensuring that the Operational Network Diagram and any changes applied to it are fit for use and in line with Code of Practice for Operation and Network Automation. This role is key to enabling DSO transition and leveraging real-time systems to support business performance through the use of data and network performance metrics.

An accurate network model is key to enabling the functions of the Network Management System (NMS) including new capabilities aligned to Net Zero delivery such as Active Network Management (ANM) and flexible services. Through the performing of daily tasks including following reports and checking the networks performance metrics you will be responsible for resolving Operation Network Diagram issues to ensure that the system operates in an optimum fashion.

What were looking for:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of core electrical and power engineering principles.
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality reliable work.
  • Eagerness to learn develop technical expertise and contribute in a dynamic engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of data models and data structures.
  • Understanding of Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
  • Familiarity with Load Flow or Power Flow Analysis.
