The Opportunity
Due to recent expansion and the award of new contracts our client is looking to recruit an experienced Night Shift Vehicle Technician to join their workshop team in Eastbourne.
Our client is an established commercial vehicle servicing maintenance and repair business working across a range of commercial vehicles as well as cars and light vehicles.
This is predominantly a diesel commercial vehicle role with approximately 95% of the workshops work involving diesel vehicles up to 44 tonnes. The remaining workload includes a mixture of petrol hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
As electric and hybrid vehicles increasingly enter the workshop our client would ideally like someone who also holds an IMI Level 3 EV qualification alongside strong conventional vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
The Role
Working from our clients workshop you will be responsible for servicing maintaining diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles up to 44 tonnes including buses and coaches.
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs efficiently and to the required standard
- Working predominantly on diesel vehicles
- Working on petrol hybrid and electric vehicles when required
- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults
- Completing workshop documentation accurately
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained safely and professionally
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Strong hands-on experience as a Vehicle Technician
- Experience working on commercial vehicles particularly vehicles up to 44 tonnes including buses and coaches.
- Strong diesel servicing maintenance repair and diagnostic experience
- A recognised automotive qualification
- Ideally an IMI Level 3 EV qualification
- The ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
- Experience working independently within a busy workshop environment
- A professional approach to vehicle safety and quality of work
While EV capability is desirable it is important to understand that this is not a predominantly EV role. Approximately 95% of the work is currently on diesel vehicles so strong conventional commercial vehicle experience is essential.
48000 basic salary depending on experience with overtime also available.

Required Skills:
Core Accountabilities: Proposition development & messaging: lead the development of the overall positioning of the proposition for customer facing and internal communication in conjunction with the product managers and sales teams. Sales & Marketing Plan: Define the 12-month rolling product marketing plan to drive awareness of the propositions and sales leads. Marketing materials and sales enablement: Develop appropriate sales marketing and training materials to support external promotion of the products and customer proposition. Work closely with sales teams to ensure their needs are met. Product launch and demand generation: Planning and participating in the launch of new products and services including customer targeting PR and demand generation. Performance Management and Reporting: Develop monthly reports to track performance against targets. Key competencies: Insight experience of using customer competitor and market intelligence Inbound and Digital marketing: experience of developing and delivering successful digital content marketing value-led collateral and campaigns Planning and Performance Management: Excellent planning and program management skills Influencing and presentation: able to present and explain key findings to engage and influence a range of business stakeholders customers and suppliers Communication skills: Excellent copywriting and design skills to produce compelling sales material for both online and print media. Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into simple ideas. Sales support: understand the B2B sales process and experience of aligning insights to support go to market objectives. What will help you stand out: Depth/breadth of experience required to carry out the role competently and effectively Product Marketing/Proposition development Experience of creating compelling customer facing messaging and marketing materials for complex B2B services ideally with experience of marketing E-Mobility Renewable IoT or IT Services Marketing campaigns: Experience of designing and delivering integrated product marketing campaigns which demonstrate a thorough understanding of the customer and drive awareness and consideration Marketing plan development: Sound understanding of marketing communication approaches and comprehensive knowledge of the full marketing mix KPIs: Knowledge and understanding of the business key performance indicators Collaboration: Experience at working in multi-function teams to deliver complex solutions and influence senior stakeholders Sales tools Content and Thought leadership: Experience at developing influential materials for various buyer personas across the buyer journey Previous background in an EV charging business clean tech or technology business Additional Information This role is London-based with the option to be based in another location with frequent travel to London. Frequent domestic & international travel may be required.
