We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Leader to join us at Honeywell in Luton Bedfordshire United Kingdom reporting to the Engineering Director this role is required to execute and accelerate NPIs within the mechanical/metering engineering function whilst maintaining strict quality requirements. The ideal person will be practiced in the full development cycle of electro-mechanical products with a metering sensor or general complex product background.

This is a hybrid role 3 2 days model.

Responsibilities:

• Focus on the mechanical / metering function located in Luton however collaborating with the wider product development functions
• Manage the mechanical/metering function activities based on priorities and resource loading. Create product and work package specifications
• Work closely with lead mechanical engineer. Ensure work activities are defined communicated and executed to the specification. Drive work package execution using project management tools
• Report progress risks and mitigations. Forecast and subsequently manage 3rd party and labour costs. Provide engineering solutions (leadership and hands on). Provide guidance on best strategy for success i.e. CFD prototype soft tool hard tool etc
• Ensure all development administrative tasks are executed. Drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with engineering and cross functional partners. Collaborate and manage 3rd party consultants and suppliers. Ensure all facilities are exploited working closely with test measurement materials and prototype capabilities

You Must Have

• Experience working in a fast-paced electro-mechanical R&D design and validation environment
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical products. Project leadership.
• Working dynamically with missing information. Confident in presentations and meetings. 3D & 2D CAD. Engineering material selection
• Design for manufacture & lowest cost. Concept selection. Value engineering. Root cause analysis
• Product approvals. Product validation. Engineering function admin (ECN document management enterprise software)

Good to have

• Knowledge of fluid metering principles (E.g. Volumetric ultra-sonic electromagnetic inferential)
• Degree in mechanical subject. Injection moulded parts
• MID & potable water material approvals. Six Sigma methodology
