Summary of role

The Marketing and Business Development Executive will support the delivery of the Firms marketing strategy working closely with the Marketing & Business Development Director and Marketing Manager across a broad range of marketing initiatives and projects. This role is central to promoting the Firms profile enhancing brand visibility and supporting engagement with clients intermediaries and wider target audiences through effective marketing activity.

Reporting to the Marketing & Business Development Director and working alongside the Marketing Manager BD Managers Marketing and BD Executive and Marketing Assistant the successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns digital communications events and content initiatives. The role will involve regular interaction with Partners and fee earners across the Firm supporting the promotion of practice areas sectors and thought leadership.

The Marketing and Business Development Executive will support the development and maintenance of marketing collateral digital marketing and website content social media activity CRM and email marketing campaigns client and referrer programmes and event management. The role offers exposure to a wide range of marketing activities and projects providing an excellent opportunity for a proactive and creative individual to develop their career within a leading professional services firm.



Skills and experience

Responsibilities

  • Marketing campaigns: Support the planning delivery and evaluation of marketing campaigns across all of the Firms practice areas. Work closely with the Marketing Manager and fee earners to promote key themes services and thought leadership.
  • Insights and Reporting: Monitor campaign performance website analytics social media engagement SEO/GEO/AEO performance and other marketing metrics. Produce reports and insights to support future marketing activity and continuous improvement. Work with the Marketing Manager to drive improvements over time and track progress.
  • Content creation and management: Draft edit and publish high-quality marketing content across a range of channels including website articles social media posts newsletters email campaigns videos podcasts and promotional materials. Ensure all content is aligned with the Firms brand tone and marketing objectives.
  • Digital marketing: Support the Firms digital presence including website updates email marketing social media activity and digital advertising where appropriate. Monitor performance and recommend improvements to increase engagement and reach.
  • Events: Coordinate and deliver marketing-led events webinars seminars and sponsorship activities from planning through to post-event evaluation. Manage invitations promotional activity attendee communications and reporting.
  • PR: Work closely with the Marketing Manager and our external PR agency to identify and maximise opportunities with target publications and media. Produce reports evidencing PR coverage.
  • Directory and award submissions: Lead the preparation and coordination of legal directory and award submissions working with partners and stakeholders to gather information and produce compelling content.
  • BD and marketing tactics: Supporting the team to deliver a wider range of initiatives as required to support strategic objectives and tactics set out in the Firms plans. This will include publishing digital content social media maintaining collateral credentials copy banks and working on projects.
  • Internal communications: Taking a lead role in designing and delivering effective internal communications using tools such as the firms intranet digital screens emails etc.
  • Marketing material: Maintain and develop marketing materials including brochures credentials presentations biographies case studies and practice area materials ensuring content is accurate engaging and up to date.
  • Firm brand: Support the consistent application of the Firms brand across all marketing channels and materials.
  • CRM system engagement: Support the evolution of the CRM activity. This will involve some data entry contact management mailing lists event invitations and campaign reporting. You will work with the wider team and Firm to embed best practice.
  • BD support: whilst predominantly marketing-focused this role requires an understanding of the BD strategies and tactics used by the firm and an ability to support for example with updating and adapting BD collateral and pitches as required by the overall team.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a marketing role within a professional services environment (legal sector experience desirable).
  • Experience delivering successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Strong content writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail and a high standard of written communication.
  • Experience of digital marketing including website management email marketing and social media platforms.
  • Experience coordinating events webinars and client-facing initiatives.
  • Understanding of marketing analytics and the ability to interpret campaign performance data.
  • Experience working with CRM and email marketing systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Proactive enthusiastic and solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercially aware and able to understand the objectives of a professional services business.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in the Adobe suite of products preferable (particularly Adobe InDesign).
  • Initial experience of using authorised AI tools to improve efficiency and an understanding of the importance of applying human judgement and complying with the firms AI policy.
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent) desirable.
