This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges driving continuous improvement and working with advanced CNC machining technologies. Youll play a key role in improving manufacturing processes reducing costs and supporting the production of precision-engineered components for demanding industries.
The Role
Working closely with the Operations Engineering team you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing methods supporting production teams and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently safely and to the highest quality standards.
This is a varied role offering exposure to process improvement CNC programming fixture design and new manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manufacture bespoke workholding and fixtures using SolidWorks.
Create and amend CNC programs both at the machine and using CAD/CAM software.
Prove out CNC programs and optimise machining processes.
Produce job setup sheets and manufacturing documentation.
Manage tooling and fixtures across production.
Lead continuous improvement projects to increase productivity reduce waste and lower manufacturing costs.
Analyse production methods and recommend improvements.
Support make-or-buy decisions through manufacturing cost analysis.
Train and support production staff with technical expertise and work instructions.
Work collaboratively across engineering and manufacturing teams to improve operational performance.
About You
Were looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who enjoys working in a precision engineering environment and has a passion for improving manufacturing performance.
Youll ideally have experience with:
Multi-axis CNC machining (5-axis 32 or multitasking machines)
Programming CNC machines using G-Code
CAD software such as SolidWorks Creo Siemens NX Solid Edge or AutoCAD
CAM software including SolidCAM Mastercam HyperMill Edgecam or Siemens NX
Manufacturing aluminium and stainless steel components
High precision engineering within aerospace medical automotive scientific or similar sectors
BOMs routings and engineering documentation
Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques
Low volume or batch manufacturing environments
Desirable Experience
SolidWorks
SolidCAM
Vericut
Automation systems including bar feeders and palletisation
Project management experience
Qualifications
Were open to candidates who have either:
HNC/HND in Manufacturing or Production Engineering
or
A completed engineering apprenticeship with significant industry experience
You should also have at least five years experience in a similar Manufacturing Engineering role.
