As part of this growth we are recruiting an Associate Director to join our Local Transport team. We welcome applicants from any project delivery practice for example Project Management Quantity Surveying or similar who are passionate about delivering excellent work and building lasting client partnerships.

Youll play a key role in helping us achieve our core goals: happy clients great assets and unlocking the full potential of our people. As a visible leader within the region you will be the primary point of contact for Local Transport clients nurturing relationships and positioning us for future opportunities

This is a blended role that balances handson project delivery with strategic client engagement. You will spend part of your time delivering projects and programmes to the highest standard ensuring technical excellence and championing innovation. The rest of your time will be focused on sustaining and growing our client base across the region through proactive engagement and business development.

Your role

As a key member of our Local Transport leadership team your purpose is twofold: to deliver highquality projects that build trusted client relationships and to drive growth across the region through strong engagement and business development.

  • Deliver excellent projects that build trust and create repeat work.
    • You will take a leading role in delivering Local Transport projects and programmes acting with integrity and confidence to ensure our clients receive exceptional service and real value.
    • Your focus on highquality outcomes innovation and continuous improvement will help secure ongoing and repeat work through excellent delivery.
  • Grow client relationships and develop new opportunities in the region.
    • You will be the primary point of contact for Local Transport clients in the region nurturing existing relationships and building new ones. Working collaboratively across wider business units you will ensure clients experience the full strength of AtkinsRéalis.
    • You will lead or support business development activities including engagement bid preparation fee proposals and positioning for future opportunities.
  • Contribute to sector strategy and continuous improvement.
    • You will support the Sector Director and wider Local Transport team in implementing our winwork strategy staying informed on industry trends and helping to drive growth innovation and performance improvement across the region.

About you

You bring the blend of delivery expertise client leadership and strategic thinking needed to thrive in a hybrid role focused on both excellence and growth.

  • Sector Knowledge & Technical Expertise
    • Strong knowledge and experience of Local Transport Public Realm and/or Highways sectors with significant exposure to Local Transport clients.
    • Experience delivering infrastructure projects and programmes across the full lifecycle within public and/or private sector environments.
  • Business Development & Client Leadership
    • A strategic analytical mindset with experience coordinating client engagement supporting growth initiatives and shaping business development activity.
    • Proven experience identifying developing and securing new business opportunities within the Local Transport sector.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Skills
    • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with diverse client and internal groups across the business.
    • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to support and develop colleagues emerging in technical or business development roles.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
