About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced L&D Capability Partner to join our dynamic HR team at Boots in Nottingham. This role is pivotal in shaping our learning and development strategy ensuring our colleagues can deliver exceptional care and service to our customers. You will report to both the Director of Capability and the Head of People Boots Opticians playing a crucial role in our people agenda.

Key responsibilities
  • In collaboration with the People Partnering Team steer shape and deliver the capability plan for Boots Opticians and enable the business to meet its in-year and help shape the longer-term people strategy for the area developing creative learning solutions that drive performance and engagement.

  • Develop and deliver innovative blended learning solutions including face to face and digital methodologies ensuring that they are accessible for colleagues across multiple geographies.

  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with other L&D and Talent colleagues and across the Partnering Team to ensure a joined-up approach across the function and bringing insight about wider organisational activities ensuring Boots Opticians is aligned and connected in the broader capability and talent strategies and plans.

  • Scope requirements and deliverables for third party suppliers managing key relationships to deliver high quality outcomes including strategies for learning and usage engagement adoption and sustainment. Maximising impact and effectiveness of learning.

  • Diagnose learning needs and drive data driven decisions to apply effective methodologies or approaches to uncover capability gaps and enable learning that has a demonstrable and positive impact on business outcomes.

  • Utilise and continue to develop your passion expertise and skills into strengthening leadership and capability so that we drive better outcomes for colleagues customers and consumers. Bringing in external insights staying up to date with industry trends and emerging tools and approaches.

What youll need to have (our must-haves)
  • Significant experience of different leadership and talent development approaches and methodologies with strong facilitation and coaching skills especially with senior leaders.

  • Subject matter expertise along with a genuine curiosity of trends ideas and innovation in leadership and development and ideas of how to apply them appropriately to business context to improve learner experience and learning impact at every stage of the process - from marketing through to embedding and sustaining learning.

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate align and support the introduction of people development solutions that have a broad reach across multiple geographies.

  • Strong project and programme management skills to scope design implement and evaluate learning and development that is learner and business focused on time and to budget.

  • Collaboration as One Team delivering a cohesive connected learning offering. Look for opportunities to align and reinforce business objectives through the learning they develop and manage.

  • Understand the business and commercial strategy and translate that into relevant and impactful learning objectives that are outcome focused and have an evidenced impact on the business colleagues or consumers.

  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on root-cause analysis and creative solutions.

  • Strong drive for results attention to detail and the ability to work at pace.

  • A keen interest in the Healthcare Industry.

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience working within a retail or healthcare setting

  • The ability to present confidently with strong facilitation skills.
