CVC DIF the infrastructure strategy of leading global private markets manager CVC is the majority shareholder in Low Carbon. Working alongside MassMutual CVC DIF will enable Low Carbon to significantly expand its installed capacity and drive the next stage of growth as a diversified leading next-generation IPP.
Role Description
We are looking for aJuniorSoftware Engineer to join our Technology Department and workwith us onour Technology Roadmap helping to deliver The Park data platform and key strategic products for Low Carbon.
Working across Low Carbons digital technology stack you will contribute to the design development and operation of data platforms software services web applications and analytical productson Microsoft Azure and Fabric. These solutions are key enablers for Low Carbons ambition to build renewable energy generation at scale and support both operational and strategic businessobjectives. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenanceofsoftware services APIs integrations webapplicationsand digital productsthat support Low Carbons operational and dataplatformsandare used by business stakeholders
- Support dashboard and reporting tool development enabling analysis and visualisation of operational and financial performance
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines data models andLakehousesusing Microsoft Fabric.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines automated testing and deployment processesusing Azure DevOps
- Participate in code reviews and software design discussionslearning and applying engineeringbest practiceswhilst developingproficiencywith modern AI-assisted development tools
- Assistin monitoringtroubleshootingand improvingdata pipelines and production systems supporting platform reliability dataqualityand performance
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholdersto understand needs and deliver solutions
- Maintain technical documentation and adhere to technology governancesecurityand compliance standards ensuring solutions are maintainable
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable capability in software engineering data engineering analytics computer science or a related discipline through formal education apprenticeships certifications or practical experience
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle principles including version controltestingand deployment practices
- StrongPython programming skills
- Fluency inSQL
- Experience with Power BI
- ExperiencewithMicrosoftFabric
- Experience with MicrosoftAzure
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communicationand collaboration skills
- Interest in renewable energy technologies
Helpful but not Essential Requirements
- Experience developing web applicationsand/or APIs
- Experienceworking in AI-enabled development environments
- Experience with Azure DevOps and working with Git-based development workflows
- Experience working with solar and battery operational data
