Job Summary

Sponsorship may be available under the Skilled Worker transitional arrangements for eligible applicants.
To be considered applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- You must have been granted your first Skilled Worker (or Tier 2 General) visa before 4 April 2024.
- You must have held continuous Skilled Worker permission since that date. Breaks in employment will mean you are not eligible.
- If your Skilled Worker permission has been cancelled curtailed or has expired without a valid continuation of permission you may not qualify.
- Applicants who were granted their first Skilled Worker visa on or after 5 April 2024 are not eligible for the transitional arrangements.
Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of their immigration history to confirm they meet the transitional eligibility requirements.
The successful applicant will be responsible for paying their own Skilled Worker visa application fee Immigration Health Surcharge and any associated personal immigration costs. The Company will pay all sponsorship costs that it is legally required to pay.
PAY
Base Salary per annum - 31326.88 plus 6188.00 per annum in Tronc.
No accommodation is provided.

Opened in 1834 as a Coaching Inn University Arms is Cambridges oldest Hotel. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING
As Junior Pastry Sous Chef you will be responsible for running a designated section within the pastry kitchen. You will prepare and present high-quality pastry items ensuring every plate is consistent creative and beautifully crafted.
THE DUTIES
- Prepare bake and present pastry and dessert items to the highest standards
- Run an assigned section within the pastry kitchen efficiently and independently
- Contribute to menu creation recipe development and seasonal offerings
- Support high-volume production for afternoon teas & desserts
- Maintain pastry quality portion control and consistency
- Ensure all food produced meets hygiene safety and allergen standards
- Train supervise and guide junior team members when required
- Assist with stock control ordering and inventory management
- Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Deputise the pastry team in the absence of the Head Pastry Chef.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
- Have previous experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or a Junior Pastry Sous Chef in a hotel or high-quality pastry environment
- Demonstrate exceptional pastry skills creativity and attention to detail
- Can work well under pressure and manage both fine-dining and high-volume demands
- Have excellent knowledge of pastry techniques baking chocolate work and plating
- Are organised proactive and passionate about producing high-quality pastry
- Understand food safety hygiene regulations and allergen protocols
- Are flexible to work early mornings weekends and public holidays
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment working at volume.
