A secondary school in St Albans is seeking an IT Technician to provide technical support across its busy educational environment.
The successful candidate will assist staff and pupils with day-to-day technical issues while supporting the maintenance of the schools hardware software network and classroom technology.
Provide first-line technical support to staff and pupils.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults.
Install and configure computers and peripheral devices.
Support interactive displays printers audiovisual equipment and classroom technology.
Assist with user accounts and access permissions.
Maintain records of IT faults and completed support requests.
Assist with network and system maintenance.
Monitor IT equipment and report replacement requirements.
Support software updates and security procedures.
Provide guidance to users on appropriate use of school technology.
Previous IT support or technical experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Good understanding of hardware software and basic networking.
Patient and approachable communication style.
Strong organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise support requests effectively.
Relevant IT qualifications would be advantageous.
