Mid-Level Software Engineer / Developer

We are seeking a Software Engineer/Developer with solid commercial experience in JavaScript TypeScript and C#. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of MySQL with exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms being a bonus. This role suits someone with several years of hands-on experience who can work independently take ownership of features end-to-end and contribute to technical decisions within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using focusing on performance and scalability.
• Design and build integrations between applications APIs and databases particularly using MySQL.
• Write clean maintainable well-tested code using JavaScript TypeScript and C#.
• Take ownership of features from design through to deployment and support.
• Participate actively in code reviews both giving and receiving constructive feedback.
• Support and mentor more junior members of the team where appropriate.
• Report to and work closely with the Lead Software Engineer to meet project goals and timelines.

What Were Looking For

• Minimum of 3 years commercial experience as a software engineer/developer.
• Strong practical experience with for web development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript TypeScript and C#.
• Experience designing and working with MySQL databases including writing performant queries.
• Confidence working with version control systems (e.g. Git) in a team workflow.
• A portfolio or track record demonstrating relevant projects and skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid remote/office environment at our Wolverhampton NDC (3 days office 2 home).
