HR Manager – Southwark | Temporary & Sickness Cover Opportunities

Schools dont always have the luxury of waiting several weeks for HR support.

Across Southwark we regularly receive requests from schools looking for experienced HR Managers who can start immediately whether they need sickness cover additional support during a busy period or temporary cover while recruiting permanently.

Were therefore looking to hear from experienced School HR Managers and Senior HR Professionals who are available for temporary work.

Depending on the schools requirements you could be responsible for:

• Managing the day-to-day HR function

• Providing advice on employee relations matters

• Managing recruitment and safer recruitment processes

• Overseeing DBS and compliance checks

• Maintaining the Single Central Record

• Supporting absence probation and performance processes

• Managing HR policies and procedures

• Supporting payroll and employee records

• Advising senior leaders on HR matters

• Managing or supporting an HR administration team

This role requires someone who can hit the ground running so previous HR management experience within a school is essential.

You must also have:

• A clear DBS

• A DBS on the Update Service or one issued within the last 6 months

• Previous school-based HR experience

• Strong knowledge of school HR procedures and safer recruitment

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• The flexibility to take on full-time or part-time temporary assignments

Assignments can vary from short-term sickness cover to longer temporary placements depending on what our schools need.
