HR Advisor

Want to be the go-to HR expert in a firm where your work is seen and valued This is a chance to make a role your own in a small team at one of the UKs largest independent investment management firms.

As our HR Advisor youll be the first point of contact for people advice across the firm. Reporting to the HR Manager youll give managers trusted pragmatic advice manage the day-to-day running of the employee lifecycle and help managers handle people issues early and with confidence. Youll play a key part in strengthening how HR supports the firm through the next stage of our five-year plan.

This is a varied hands-on generalist role. Our employee relations caseload is generally low in volume but varies in complexity so youll handle cases from start to finish with the support of the HR Manager on the most complex matters. Youll also support and guide our HR Administrator look for ways to make our HR processes simpler and better and turn people data into insight that helps the business make good decisions.

Your First Year

Your focus will be on building strong foundations: getting to know our people and managers and making sure our core HR services run smoothly and reliably. This will include:

• Advising managers on ER matters and managing cases from investigation through to outcome.
• Making sure the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to leavers runs smoothly and accurately.
• Coaching line managers and delivering training to build their confidence in managing people.
• Producing monthly people reporting that highlights trends risks and recommended actions.
• Guiding and supporting our HR Administrator and providing cover when needed.
• Reviewing our HR processes policies and systems and suggesting practical improvements.

About the Team

Youll join our small close-knit HR team of three working closely with the HR Manager and HR Administrator. No two days are the same and youll have real ownership of your a team this size your ideas will be heard and your impact will be visible across the firm.

What Were Looking For

Qualifications Experience & Knowledge

Essential

• Proven experience as an HR Advisor or in a similar generalist HR role working with a good degree of independence.
• Experience of managing ER cases end to end including disciplinary grievance capability and absence.
• Sound up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law applied pragmatically and proportionately.
• Experience of reporting on HR metrics and turning data into practical recommendations.
• CIPD Level 5 qualified.

Desirable

• Experience in financial services or another FCA-regulated environment.
• Experience of supporting or guiding junior HR colleagues.
