About the role

This is a diverse hands-on role combining local driving duties with yard and warehouse operations. Youll play a key role in ensuring trailers vehicles and freight move safely and efficiently through the depot while supporting the wider operation.

You will be responsible for:

• Completing local collections and deliveries in a safe professional and timely manner

• Shunting positioning and parking trailers around the yard to maximise efficiency and support operational requirements

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks jet washing and maintaining vehicle and trailer cleanliness

• Loading and unloading trailers flatbeds and containers using a counterbalance forklift

• Securing loads safely using appropriate restraint methods and ensuring vehicles are prepared for transport

• Supporting warehouse operations with stock movements inventory checks and general warehouse duties

• Maintaining accurate paperwork delivery documentation and operational records while ensuring high standards of housekeeping throughout the depot

About you

Youll hold a valid Category C or CE HGV licence along with a current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. An in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential and a Tug Licence would be advantageous.

Youll have previous experience within transport yard warehouse or logistics operations with a strong understanding of trailer movements load securing vehicle compliance and safe working practices. Knowledge of tachograph regulations driver hours legislation and UK road transport requirements is important.

Youll thrive in this role if youre a practical hands-on individual who enjoys variety and takes pride in getting the job done right. Strong communication skills a proactive attitude and a willingness to step out of the cab and support warehouse operations are key. Youll be comfortable working outdoors handling physically demanding tasks and contributing positively as part of a close-knit team.
