ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Group Financial Controller is a senior role responsible for scaling maintaining and continuously improving the finance function from the ground up. A hands-on role you will own both the strategic and operational day-to-day elements by working closely with the Co-CEOs and clinic leadership teams to ensure financial accuracy control and reporting across the Skingevity group of clinics.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Group Financial Controller will own both the strategic and operational elements a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities of which is below:
Own consolidation and intercompany reporting across all group entities.
Maintain and refine the chart of accounts accounting policies and reporting templates as the group scales.
Maintain the bookkeeping in Xero.
Deliver monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.
Prepare and submit VAT returns (incl. partial VAT).
Oversee with support from the HR function the Groups monthly payroll process.
Support M&A and post-acquisition integration.
Create budgets and financial models.
Monitor cash flow and develop forecasting processes.
Prepare Board and investor reporting packs.
Requirements
This is a hands-on Controller role you will be doing the work personally not just reviewing it. The essential requirements are:
ACA ACCA or CIMA qualified with a controllership background (not solely audit/practice).
Proven hands-on ownership of group consolidation across multiple entities.
Proven track record of owning the full accounting cycle including month-end statutory accounts VAT and managing the audit relationship.
Circa 2 years post-qualification industry experience where depth of relevant experience matters more than a fixed number of years.
Comfortable being hands-on: happy to prepare accounts reconcile and improve processes personally.
Confident using Xero Excel and management reporting tools.
The following would be desirable and advantageous to have experience in:
Audit-trained at a Big 4 or leading mid-tier firm.
VC- PE- or family-office-backed companies.
Multi-site or multi-entity businesses
Start-up / fast-growing environments including improving (not just building) finance processes as a business scales.
Experience with partial VAT exemption (ideally in a healthcare medical or mixed-supply environment) is a plus.
Comfortable presenting numbers directly to founders/leadership confident being challenged and pushing back when needed.
Proactive solutions-oriented and motivated by improving structure in a scaling business.
