We are working exclusively with a reputable fast-growing and forward-thinking Fire & Security business with an excellent company culture and ambitious plans for continued growth.
Due to expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced Fire & Security Small Works Engineer to join their mobile engineering team. Ideally Midlands based.
This is a dedicated small works role focused on repairs fault finding remedial works upgrades and smaller installation projects across Fire and Security systems.
The Role
- Carry out small works repairs upgrades and installations across Fire Alarm CCTV Access Control and Intruder Alarm systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete remedial works to bring systems back to full operation.
- Complete additions alterations and upgrades to existing systems.
- Carry out smaller installation projects from initial works through to testing commissioning and handover.
- Work from drawings specifications and method statements where required.
- Test and commission completed works to ensure systems operate correctly and meet relevant standards.
- Identify additional faults or remedial requirements while attending sites and report these accurately.
- Liaise with project managers customers and internal teams to ensure works are completed within agreed timescales.
- Complete all relevant job sheets certificates commissioning paperwork and reports.
- Provide system demonstrations and basic user training following completed works where required.
- Work safely in accordance with RAMS company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Maintain company tools test equipment and vehicle to a high standard.
- Support and mentor junior engineers and trainees where appropriate.
The Person
- Previous experience within the Fire & Security industry.
- Strong experience in fault finding repairs remedial works and small installations.
- Experience working across a combination of Fire Alarm CCTV Access Control and Intruder systems.
- Comfortable working independently in a mobile engineering role.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Professional and confident dealing directly with customers on site.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexible with travel across the M4 corridor/Bristol/Central England into Wales
