Our Finance service provides expert support that helps the council deliver reliable and high-quality public services. These services work closely across the organisation to make informed decisions use public money wisely and plan for the long term so that we can continue to deliver positive outcomes for our communities.

In this key role you will provide comprehensive support across a variety of Finance Accountancy and Procurement functions. You willbe responsible forreviewingdevelopingand consulting on changes to ORACLE and other finance systems to improve efficiencies through better processes and management information.

You will work closely with the Systems and Process Improvement Lead to gather requirements from teams across the Finance service contributing to strategic improvement roadmaps for all processes and identifying areas for development.

The Support Officer should be educated to HNC or NVQ Level 4 in a relevantprofessionordemonstrateequivalent experience.

The successful candidate willpossessstrong interpersonal skillswith the ability to build effective working relationships. They will alsodemonstrateexcellent workload management with the capacity to prioritise tasks and meet addition they will have the ability to interpret and analyse data accurately.

Responsibilities

Examples of duties and responsibilities include:

  • To provide a systems administrator role in relation to certain processes and security activities for the system and be expert in its operation.

  • To provide training and advice in the operation of the system for professional and end users.

  • Lead on the identification and resolution of issues relating to standing master data for example updating the customer or supplier types.

  • Be the first point of contact for finance and procurement staff and the Business Information team to support the analysis of finance data.
