About the Role

As an Engineering Apprentice youll undertake a structured training programme combining academic study with practical on-the-job experience. Under the guidance of an experienced Mentor youll gain the skills and knowledge needed to support our engineering department and grow into a future leader in maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps valves and pipes
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Complete checklists and maintenance records
• Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Use hand and power tools (e.g. wrenches drills grinders) and test equipment
• Understand engineering science and technology principles
• Prioritise safety and identify workplace hazards
• Use basic computer software (Word Excel)
• Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings

What Were Looking For

Essential:

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or A Levels
• Basic computer literacy )
• Interest in manufacturing and maintenance

Desirable:

• Exposure to mechanical or engineering environments

Your Apprenticeship Journey

• Year 1:2 days per week at Cambridge Regional College 3 days per week on-site in Huntingdon
• Years 2 & 3:1 day per week at college 4 days per week on-site
