About the roleand about you

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director Community Housing to lead our community housing operations and help shape the future of housing services for our customers and communities. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer and leading a multidisciplinary team you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer outcomes ensuring regulatory compliance and driving innovation across our housing this role you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across SGCHs community housing portfolio. You will work closely with executive peers shared services teams government partners and sector stakeholders to deliver high-quality housing services that are customer-first safety-led and aligned to our long-term strategy.

To succeed in this role you are an experience and respected housing leader with a track record of delivering strategic outcomes leading large operational teams and building strong stakeholder relationships.

This is apermanentrole based at our Liverpool and Redfern offices and requires regular travel to other SGCH office locations including St Leonards and Bonnyrigg.

Duties

• Leading the strategic direction and operational delivery of community housing programs including allocations tenancy management and integrated support services.

• Driving positive customer outcomes through trauma-informed culturally safe and customer-centred service delivery.

• Providing executive-level advice on housing policy regulatory requirements service innovation and sector trends.

• Leading responses to complex tenancy matters anti-social behaviour customer escalations and high-risk cases.

• Managing significant budgets contracts and Homes NSW funding arrangements including SHMT Tenant Assistance budgets.

• Building strong partnerships across government industry and community sectors while representing SGCH at senior forums.

• Driving organisational performance workforce capability continuous improvement and cultural transformation.

Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or substantial equivalent experience in a related field and of delivering outcomes in Community Housing or similar and expert knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance.

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Community Housing Real Estate/Property or the Public Sector with proven ability of service excellence and continuous improvement.

• Executive to Board level advisory experience a strong communicator highly adaptable strong relationship-building skills interpersonal with financial acumen and ability to manage budgets forecast and productivity improvement.

• A current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness and ability to travel regularly to SGCH region sites and offices.
