Controller

Are you a CPA with strong accounting and financial leadership experience who is ready to take on a Controller-level opportunity We are seeking a Controller on behalf of our client a dynamic and continually growing organization in Bedford NS.

The successful candidate will work in a professional collaborative environment and oversee the day-to-day accounting function while managing one Accounting Clerk and playing an important role in supporting the financial health and continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the organization
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records and reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements reconciliations and other financial reports
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
• Support budgeting forecasting cash flow management and financial planning
• Monitor internal controls and accounting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Coordinate with external auditors and other professional advisors
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards policies and requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes systems and reporting
• Provide hands-on support across the accounting function as required

• CPA designation in good standing is required
• Several years of progressive accounting audit or finance experience
• Experience with Yardi is required or strongly preferred
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
