The Team Youll Work With

Youll be joining our Carta Law team specifically within the Contracts - EMEA function. Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. Our Contracts team manages the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for clients from first review through to execution. Youll be the direct day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients working alongside fellow lawyers and paralegals. This team delivers high volumes of pre-M&A contract work at speed supported by AI-backed tools including Cartas proprietary platform Ava.

  • Independently negotiate and execute high volumes of pre-M&A contracts NDAs NRLs joinders and engagement letters liaising directly with counterparties against agreed SLAs.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients building trusted advisor relationships.
  • Maintain and evolve client-specific contract playbooks ensuring consistency and quality across every negotiation.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and paralegals reviewing their work and contributing to a high-performing team culture.
  • Use and continuously improve Cartas legal technology suite identifying ways to innovate using AI-backed tools
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle for each matter from first review through execution and system logging.
About You
  • Qualified and experienced. Youre licensed to practise law in the UK Europe US or Canada with 3 PQE
  • Track record. Youve independently negotiated pre-M&A contracts like NDAs NRLs joinders and engagement letters in a financial services legal environment.
  • Trusted advisor.You build lasting relationships with sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients and communicate legal advice crisply.
  • Commercially minded. You balance legal risk against business objectives and flag issues before they escalate.
  • Tech-forward. Youre proficient with AI-backed contract review tools like Carta Ava HighQ and CLM/e-signature systems and look for ways to improve them.
  • Collaborative leader. You mentor junior lawyers and paralegals and take ownership of your work in a fast-paced environment.
