Job Summary
As a Contact Worker you will supervise family time sessions between children and their families ensuring that all contact takes place in a safe positive and child-focused environment. You will observe interactions support positive family relationships and produce accurate factual recordings that may be used within court proceedings.
- Supervise contact sessions between children and family members.
- Ensure family time is safe child-centred and appropriate.
- Observe and monitor interactions during contact sessions.
- Produce accurate factual and professional written reports following each session.
- Maintain detailed records that may be submitted as evidence in court proceedings.
- Support children and families during supervised contact sessions.
- Promote safeguarding and the welfare of children at all times.
- Facilitate contact sessions within designated venues and community settings.
- Work collaboratively with social workers and other professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
- Ensure all observations and recordings meet required service standards.
- Experience working with children young people or families.
- Experience within Social Care Family Support Youth Work Residential Care Education Childrens Services or similar settings.
- Experience producing accurate written records and reports.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Ability to observe and record information objectively and factually.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
- Experience working with vulnerable children and families is desirable.
- Relevant experience in Childrens Services Family Support Social Care or related field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
- Working hours: 37 hours per week.
- Location: Worcestershire.
