Choose Communications & Events

If you are passionate about storytelling and believe in the power of effective communication this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As part of our team you will help shape and deliver creative internal communication initiatives that bring the strategies of RWEST and the wider RWE Group to life for our employees. Working closely with experienced communications professionals you will contribute to engaging campaigns content development and employee communications across a range of channels. You will also gain hands-on experience in the planning and delivery of events supporting the team in creating impactful employee experiences that inform connect and inspire colleagues across the business.

The team sits within the broader Corporate Affairs function giving you a unique opportunity to develop a strong understanding of RWEST and gain exposure to a wide variety of business topics projects and stakeholder groups. This placement offers valuable insight into both strategic communications and event management within a leading international energy trading company.

Job requirements and experiences

As a team we need creative and flexible thinking that helps us to produce content that will inspire and engage our employees. You will be someone who is organised solution-oriented and who finds satisfaction in seeing your hard work come to life as you bring an event from conception to reality.

Your work will have a real impact in uniting a global business and creating a positive company culture and thats why we need the right person for our team. You will need to be self-motivated enjoy teamwork and be willing to step out of your comfort zone to develop both personally and professionally.

Were looking for students who are in the penultimate year of an English Communications Media Studies Event Management or similar degree who are ideally on course to achieve a 2:1 or higher. What you must have is:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluent English.
• IT proficiency including the ability to use AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Enjoy creative thinking.
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable acting on your own initiative.
• A positive mindset and enthusiasm to try new things.

To help you get the most out of your placement we provide lots of support and development opportunities including in-house courses and on-the-job training with everything you need to make the placement a success. Alongside the day-job youll be provided with comprehensive behavioural skills training with our expert partner Cappfinity. This will enable you to harness your strengths from day one and identify new ways to utilise the key Skills That Build Skills. This includes interactive sessions where you can learn from our facilitators and your own peers and self-led elements to support your application of learning back in your day-to-day role.
