A friendly school in Shaftesbury is seeking a dependable School Caretaker to support the daily maintenance security and presentation of the premises.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a varied range of practical duties and will contribute to ensuring pupils and staff have a safe and well-maintained environment.

• Manage the secure opening and closing of the school site.

• Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds.

• Complete general repairs and routine maintenance.

• Monitor heating lighting water alarm and security systems.

• Support fire safety and health and safety checks.

• Maintain outdoor areas and assist with seasonal grounds duties.

• Coordinate access for contractors and service providers.

• Assist with deliveries and the movement of furniture and equipment.

• Report maintenance defects and potential hazards promptly.

• Keep accurate records of inspections and completed maintenance.

• Previous caretaking maintenance facilities or trade experience.

• Practical knowledge of general building maintenance.

• Understanding of health and safety requirements.

• Good problem-solving and organisational skills.

• Reliable and responsible approach.

• Ability to work independently and respond to changing priorities.

• Enhanced background check required.
