The Sector Business Management team partners with sector leadership to turn strategic priorities into coordinated action informed decisions and measurable outcomes. Sector Business Managers work at the intersection of sector leadership commercial and operations strategy people client priorities and Corporate Functions joining the dots across priorities performance and delivery.
The balance of focus will flex by sector agreed with the Sector Lead and Sector COO but the core purpose is consistent: creating the insight alignment and operating rhythm that helps leadership focus time where it matters most.
Strategy Governance & Leadership Alignment
- Translate sector leadership objectives into actionable plans clear priorities owners and tracked outcomes supporting delivery of sector strategy annual planning and priority initiatives.
- Own the sector leadership governance decision-making forums and operating rhythm ensuring agendas decisions actions and dependencies are captured coordinated and progressed.
- Support the Sector Lead and Sector COO to focus leadership time on the right strategic priorities using constructive challenge clear forward planning and disciplined follow-through.
Performance Insight KPIs & Decision Support
- Orchestrate people client and commercial reporting into a connected view of sector performance identifying risks opportunities trends and areas requiring leadership intervention.
- Support leadership to define maintain and track KPIs and/or OKRs creating visibility of progress accountability and delivery against agreed objectives.
- Work with sector and central teams to align local MI and KPI requirements with centrally managed systems and tools reducing duplication and improving the quality and consistency of insight.
People Client and Commercial Priorities & Operational Excellence
- Connect the sectors People Client and Commercial priorities helping leadership direct focus to the areas that matter most.
- Support sector leadership with revenue margin utilisation and growth priorities ensuring key commercial activities are visible coordinated and followed through.
- Identify and manage operational risks issues and dependencies escalating where needed and supporting continuous improvement of sector ways of working.
Corporate Function Partnering Communications & Change Delivery
- Act as a central point of coordination across Corporate Functions and sector teams creating alignment on priorities and helping deliver integrated solutions to business needs.
- Develop sector leadership communications briefings updates and engagement activity to ensure priorities decisions and performance messages are clear and consistently understood.
- Lead or coordinate sector-wide initiatives change activity and business improvement programmes ensuring change is delivered embedded and adopted.
- Experience in business management operations strategy chief of staff consulting or professional services environments.
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to create alignment influence decisions and drive follow-through.
- Experience owning or supporting leadership governance operating rhythms and decision-making forums.
- Ability to quickly and credibly create connections and establish influence at all level of the organisation
- Ability to translate strategic priorities into clear plans owners milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn people client and commercial data into clear insight for leadership.
- Comfortable working with KPIs OKRs MI and performance reporting to identify risks trends and areas requiring focus.
- Experience shaping and delivering change improvement activity or cross-functional initiatives.
- Clear and confident communicator able to produce leadership updates briefings and meeting materials.
- Proactive organised and comfortable working with ambiguity pace and changing priorities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office particularly Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI experience would be useful but is not essential.
