Job Summary

TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its Melksham office.
This is a straightforward and varied bookkeeping position working with a portfolio of owner managed businesses across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records and providing a reliable high quality service to clients.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Completing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
  • Processing bank transactions and completing reconciliations
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Producing management information where required
  • Working with cloud accounting software
  • Resolving bookkeeping queries with clients
  • Ensuring records are complete accurate and kept up to date
  • Liaising with the accounts team and other colleagues across the firm


Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have previous bookkeeping experience ideally within an accountancy practice
  • Possess a good understanding of VAT and bookkeeping principles
  • Be familiar with cloud accounting software such as Xero QuickBooks or Sage
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with clients
  • Be AAT qualified studying towards AAT or qualified by experience
